Thanks To The Community

The Village would like to thank the entire community, and all of the out of town visitors who helped make our Canada Day 2018 event  such a great success. We had approximately 130 - 150 participants (kids on bikes) and around 400 guests attend. Daisy McBeans did a great job on the grill cooking hot dogs and the treats from the Village Market were well received.

The Ma-Me-O Legion kicked off the official part of the ceremony. Local resident Pat Sloan lead the crowd beautifully  in singing "O Canada" The SPL Fire Department lead the parade and the participants followed on their bikes. It was a magnificent landscape of red and white, plus the country & community pride shown was outstanding.

The kids drove around Town Square and they were judged. The winners, a boy and a girl, each won a new bike. The bikes were donated by The Village, purchased at Lot7 Cycle

Special Thanks To:

  • the participants (all the kids) the proceeds from decoration bags were donated to the Ma-Me-O Legion $475
  • our volunteers (Chantelle Van Slyke, Peggy Sloan, John Hauptman, Marvin Schmidt, SPL Fire Dept)
